Amanda & Josh’s Laid-Back Wedding at Evesham Registry Office and Dumbleton Cricket Club

When Amanda and Josh started planning their wedding, they originally had visions of a big, traditional affair. But as time went on, they realised that wasn’t them at all! Instead, they opted for something that truly reflected who they are – a relaxed, family-centred day that focused on the people they love most.

As a Gloucestershire wedding photographer, it was an absolute joy to capture this refreshingly authentic celebration, proving that weddings don’t have to follow the “rulebook” to be fabulous!

From Big Wedding Plans to an Intimate Ceremony

Amanda and Josh swapped their grand wedding dreams for a more intimate ceremony at Evesham Registry Office. With just a handful of close family and friends in attendance, there were lots of laughs and a few tears , which are just the kind of moments I love to capture as a candid wedding photographer.

Afterwards, Amanda and Josh headed off to their reception at a place close to Amanda’s heart—Dumbleton Cricket Club. Amanda spent many childhood days there, so it felt like the natural choice for a laid-back celebration with family and friends.

A Family-Focused Reception at Dumbarton Cricket Club

The vibe of the day was fun and relaxed. Kids were everywhere, running around, playing games, and just being themselves, which really added to the family feel of the day. The reception was a total blast, with games like bouncy castle fun, skittles, giant Jenga, and even limbo! There was also a face painter for the little ( and a few big )ones, while the adults enjoyed a hog roast and salads (with plenty of visits to the bar, of course).

As a Cotswolds wedding photographer, I love capturing moments where guests are really enjoying themselves, and this wedding had no shortage of those! Guests gathered around the bar for speeches that were heartfelt and full of laughter, and the whole day was set to a playlist Amanda and Josh had curated themselves. It was a soundtrack that perfectly matched the relaxed, DIY atmosphere of the day.

Dancing shoes are on

With no strict timeline or formalities, the evening flowed naturally into a dance party that kept everyone on their feet. Thanks to Amanda and Josh’s playlist, the dance floor was full of happy faces and shoes kicked off for the rest of the night!

This wedding was a perfect reminder that a day doesn’t need to be filled with elaborate details or follow tradition to be amazing. Amanda and Josh’s laid-back celebration was filled with love, laughter, and so many real moments, making it one of those weddings that I, as a candid wedding photographer, absolutely live for.

So, if you’re thinking about ditching the grand wedding for something a bit more you, take a page from Amanda and Josh’s book. You can still have the best day ever without all the fuss!
