It’s always special when someone from your past reaches out, and when Carrie got in touch after 15+ years to ask if I’d photograph her wedding, I was thrilled. We hadn’t seen each other in ages, but stepping back into her life for this day felt like no time had passed. Here’s a look at their stunning day at Hardwicke Moat Weddings.
Getting Ready at the Eaton Oak Pub
The day started at the Eaton Oak pub, where Carrie and Billy prepped for their big day surrounded by friends and family. Carrie looked incredible, and the excitement in the room was contagious. With everyone laughing and helping each other out, it set the tone for a relaxed and fun-filled day. After getting ready, Carrie and her bridesmaids took a tractor and trailer to the venue—a quirky and personal touch that fit the laid-back feel of the day perfectly.

After the “I do’s,” Tim the toastmaster was on hand to help me round up the guests for family photos. It was smooth sailing, and after the group shots, I whisked Carrie and Billy away for 15 minutes to capture some couple portraits. These brief moments alone always feel special for newlyweds, and we managed to get some lovely, candid shots of them just enjoying the day.
A Fun Twist at the Wedding Breakfast
One of the standout parts of the reception was the clever idea of assigning a “chef’s hat” to a guest at each table. Whoever wore the hat had to carve the meat for the table, which was a great way to get everyone involved and break the ice. It was such a fun, unique detail that added to the relaxed atmosphere.
Dancing the Night Away
After a delicious wedding breakfast and heartfelt speeches, it was time for the evening celebrations. The live band was fantastic and kept the dance floor packed all night. It was such a joyful way to end the day, with everyone letting loose and celebrating Carrie and Billy’s new chapter together.
