Anna & Jacob’s Colourful Celebration at The Matara Centre

A bride and groom sharing their first kiss at the Matara Centre

When Anna & Jacob invited me to capture their big day at the Matara Centre, I knew it was going to be something special. I joined them just before the ceremony and was immediately met with a burst of colour! Anna was rocking a custom-designed dress by The Couture Company, and trust me, it wasn’t just any wedding dress. It had her personality sewn into it—literally. A little embroidered version of Anna’s cat was stitched right onto the fabric, making it not only stunning but also full of sentimental charm.

A Beautiful Ceremony Under the Cloisters

The couple chose to tie the knot under the Matara Centre’s famous cloisters in the courtyard, a setting that never fails to impress. With its peaceful, zen-like vibe, it was the perfect spot for a meaningful and intimate ceremony. The moment they said “I do” was simply beautiful, and you could feel the love all around.

Celebrating on the Lawns with Canapés and Chat

After the ceremony, everyone headed out to the lawns in front of the gorgeous Regency house. There were canapés, drinks, and, of course, a good old-fashioned natter (what’s a wedding without a bit of gossip and giggles?). The Matara Centre has this brilliant tradition where every couple gets to plant a tree, symbolising their new life together. Anna & Jacob’s tree-planting moment was as lovely as you’d imagine, with all their guests cheering them on as they made their mark on the grounds.

A Showstopper Cake from a Talented Friend

Then came the wedding breakfast, which was as delicious as it was picturesque. The cake was a masterpiece, baked by none other than their friend Angie Wright. Now, I’m not exaggerating when I say it was one of the most impressive cakes I’ve ever laid eyes on. Angie only bakes for fun, but she really ought to consider making it a full-time gig—it was that good!

Dancing the Night Away

Once the Wedding Breakfast was finished, it was time to get the party started. The dance floor filled up quickly, and from the looks of it, everyone was ready to let loose and have a cracking night. I slipped away as the dancing got into full swing, but I could tell the celebrations were far from over!
